Dog Hiking Essentials

As some readers may know, I love hiking with my pooch. It's such great exercise for me and for him too.

Here are the essentials I pack for pooch to make sure he stays happy on our hike.

A comfortable rucksack is always a great idea so you can carry easily all of your things and all of dogs things. This one I have had for over a year now and is holding up really well, it's from Accessorize Monsoon.

The next thing I always pack is water. This water bottle has a tray that is attached that allows your dog to drink from it, it was super inexpensive and you can pick them up from Pets at Home fore around £3.

Poo bags, not very glamourise but owning a dog means being responsible and picking up the poop. I like to use these nappy sacks from Tesco as they are cheaper than bags that are branded as poop bag and they are biodegradable.

Treats!! For those times you might be able to let Fido have some of lead time and you want to work on his recall.

The next thing I like to take is a flex lead. Sometimes you can't let your dog of lead, but you still want to give him some free rein to sniff and trot a little bit ahead. This is when it is great to have a flex lead as an option, it allows a little more roaming range with out any loss of control.

Lastly for the colder winter hikes, a good quality hardy jacket. This one I picked up from Pets at Home. It is fully water proof, fleece lined for warmth and it has a really nice chest panel which keeps the wet of Fido's tummy.

What are some of your dog walking must haves, leave us a comment below!

DIY Home Facial

There is nothing I enjoy more than getting home from a long day, having a hot soak in the bath and treating myself to a facial. Heres how I pamper my pores.

First things first, we are going to make our own exfoliator and mask.

For the exfoliated you will need:
2 TBS Sugar,
2 TBS Oil,
1 TBS Honey,

And all you have to do is mix it all up and you can store this in an air tight container.

Sugar Honey Face Scrub
After that you can whip up a small batch of Honey Oat Mask:
3 TBS Oats,
Cover with hot water,
Add 1 TSP Honey,

Let this mixture sit and cool whilst we do the rest of our facial.

Honey Oat Mask

1) Wet face with warm water.
2) Use your favourite cleanser to remove makeup and dirt.
3) Next apply a small amount of the Sugar Scrub to your still damp face. Use light, small circular motions. Wash this of with warm water.
4) Now you want to steam your face, to do this, run your cloth in hot water, squeeze out excess and then press to face. Repeat this 3-4 times.
5) Apply oat mixture all over face and leave to sit for around 10 minutes.
6) Wash of with warm water then pat dry with a clean towel.
7) Apply your favourite moisturiser and enjoy your refreshed feeling face!
